WELCOME
In the following pages you will find helpful information on how to prepare for your upcoming session as well as what to expect before, after, and during the creative process. Much of the success of a session is a result of careful planning and collaborative creativity, so please grab a cup of coffee and take a few moments to browse through these pages.
I look so forward to getting to know you and your family as we work together in the upcoming days.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING
The most important thing to remember when preparing for your session is that we want to see YOU and not your clothes, hair and makeup, so keep it simple. (Unless we are planning a fine art session with elaborate costuming.) To avoid stress the day of your session:
Pick out your clothes a few days before your session, make sure they are clean and free of stains, and (important) please iron them.
Make sure you have all accessories and check that you have appropriate undergarments. (For example, ensure that bra straps don’t show.)
If you plan to change your hair, pack necessary hair accessories.
Do NOT spray tan.
WHAT TO WEAR
BRING 3 OUTFITS
The most important thing is to choose outfits that you love and that you feel great wearing. Bring something casual, something dressy, and something timeless, and make sure to bring accessories for each.
CONSIDER COLOR & TEXTURE
When choosing outfits consider the locations and backdrops we will be using. If we are doing a natural setting, for example, choose neutral or natural colors with organic fabrics. For an urban location choose modern and / or colorful clothing.
BE CREATIVE
Consider something a little out of the ordinary that helps to tell your story. I love vintage or antique clothing with neutral colors, unusual hats to frame your face, or long flowing dresses with a unique texture. I can help you with this during the planning stages of your session but in the meantime, take a look at my website for several examples.
DON'Ts:
Large or busy prints
florescents
spray tans
PORTRAIT PRESERVATION & DISPLAY
Despite the transition to social media and digital experience, I still delight in producing tactile prints that can be enjoyed together with family for generations to come. With this in mind, I bring my clients the finest quality print products on the market. Prints are produced by a professional lab on E-Surface, Metallic, or Fuji Deep Matte paper with UV coating, and wall portraits are mounted on styrene for added durability and longevity. All collections include either full resolution or web sized digital images.
A variety of products are available including fine art gallery mounts, canvas, wood prints, fine art metallic and acrylic mounts, and custom designed coffee table books. I refer all framing to a talented local framer, GM Fotography, who has offered the finest quality framing for decades.
